Who is Ask a Nurse Now?
Ask a Nurse Now, is the idea of Angela McElfresh, a Registered Nurse with a degree in Business Health. Even as a RN, her experience working in healthcare has shown, many individuals experience difficulty in locating medical, health and general wellness information/resources. Often people feel uncomfortable asking for information from their medical provider or their medical providers fail to offer important information that can make a difference
Background Information:
Before getting her RN degree, her personal story includes the frustration & stress experienced when having her first child without any health insurance in the early 90's. During the pregnancy, suffering from complications, she had to figure out how to pay out of pocket for testing and prenatal care. After having emergency c-section, she had no assistance and struggled to pay astronomical medical bills which left little to pay for formula and other needed baby items.
The lack of guidance or connection to the available resources, left her struggling with why no one gave her this info and how this led to a tough road of financial, medical and personal hardships that could have been prevented.
